We're out 130 miles offshore in our 50 foot viking sport fish, fishing for the allusive Bluefin Tuna during the summer of 2014. The waves splashing against the hull of our boat. The sea spray coming onto the deck hitting me as I pace around the deck. Thinking in my head "We'll catch one just give it time". My father and his crew who had been navigating and fishing these water since my age, they knew what they were doing. My Dad had taught me good things come to people who have patience, even without saying it.
Throughout my life my father has taught me many important lessons through my life. One of the things he has has taught me is good things come to people who have patience. Me and my father had been Tuna fishing for the past 5 years without any luck. The day came and we finally caught our pot of gold. One other life lesson that I will always remember is to work hard and you will succeed. While my Father was growing up was the oldest of 4 brothers and, at the age of 10 his father had passed away. From then on he worked hard and took over the family business. He had almost tripled the size of the family business after his Father passed. He says "When someone says you cant do something, do it and show them you can. My father has taught me many things by just doing what he does. If he hadn't taught me any lessons I wouldn't be the person I currently am.
Everyone should have a person in their life would leads by example. It takes skill on your part to figure out what their teaching you. My father is that kind of person to me and I hope many others.
