Everyone has a way of words, some people use their much more differently than others.
Words can be used for many different ways and can be said in many different ways. A way with words can help people get through their day and even ruin their day. Being able to use words can make life much easier.
In the classic story Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain, the main character Tom Sawyer, is very good with his words. Many times throughout the story he uses his way of words to trick people into doing things he does not want to do. Being good with his words has benefited Tom in many ways. It also benefits people in real life too. Being good with words can help you get a job, get a raise and even get out of your chores.
Toms Aunt, Aunt Polly sends Tom out to whitewash the fence in their backyard. Jim a boy Tom ages passes by, and Tom tries to get him to do some of the whitewashing in return for a “white alley". Jim almost agrees, but Aunt Polly shows up and chases Jim off, leaving Tom all by himself to work on the job. Later on, Ben Rogers also a boy Tom’s age, walks by. Tom convinces Ben that whitewashing a fence is really fun to do, and after some negotiating, Ben agrees to give Tom his apple in return for the privilege of whitewashing on the fence. Throughout the rest of the day everybody that passes by Tom is convinced to whitewash the fence until the coats were finished. Tom ends up with items from each person and didn't even have to lift a finger.
Being able to utilize words is a tool that can be used in many different ways, wether it helps you or not.
